I was a rock star

On October 1st NIHS School festival I was a drummer in a band called "YAMADA BAND"! The other members were Ryosuke Yamada, Junpei Nishikawa and Bin Jin Ryu. Ryosuke played lead guitar. Junpei played bass and Bin Jin sang. We performed a famous song called "GLAMOROUS SKY". We practised for two weeks at school. It was very hard for me because I don't play the drums often.

On the day of the festival, I cooked yakitori. Yakitori is grilled chicken on a stick. When it was time to perfom, I left the Yakitori stand to become a rock star.

We only played one song but it was unforgetable. This is my last year at NIHS perfoming at the school festival give me a good feeling of achievement and frontier spirit.

School Festival interviews

We had a School Festival on October 1st. During the day, we interviewed some people to find out what they thought about the festival.

Teacher, Petra McSporran said:"It's so good that my students played in a band. I am pleased."

Some volunteer mothers of students working at a booth said:"I could do a refreshment booth with other mothers."

"People who came and bought ODEN said 'this is nice'. So I'm glad."

One person said: "This festival's theme is Global Peace, but I don't think it's in connection with the theme."

Some high school girls in yukatas said:"The tea ceremony was good."

The yakitori (grilled chicken) and yakisoba (fried noodles) boys said:"Our refreshment booth is the best."

Rock in Japan Festival

On August 5th to 7th, we went to the 'Rock In Japan Festival' in Hitachinaka City, Ibaragi. 'Rock In Japan' is one of the biggest festivals in Japan. Many indie bands and famous musicians play in this festival.

There were 97 artists, for example, Mr.Children, RIP SLYME and the Southern All Stars. The three day festival attracted 135,900 people from all over Japan.

We stayed for three days and saw 18 performances: 175R, Dragon Ash, BUMP OF CHICKEN, Mr.Children, RIP SLYME, MONGOL 800, ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, BEAT CRUSADERS,Sambo Master, GING-NANG BOYZ,Tsubaki, Tubakiya shijuso, YUKI, HY, SINGER SONGER, THE BACK HORN, The band Apart and ELLE GARDEN. They were all so amazing! We were so excited!

But the best performance was by ELLE GARDEN. They were so great and cool! Their songs make us feel good.

This trip is very good experience for us, because before we went to the festival, we had to do many things such as buy a tickets, book our accommodation, check the nightbus schedule and the directions. But we did these things by ourselves and it gave us many precious memories. We'll never forget it.

If you feel sad or lonesome ,you try to listen to the music. Maybe it will make you feel better.
